The Challenge
News Limited tells us they searched the globe for a display advertising platform that they could use across all of their independent news paper entities. They didn’t want to spend millions of dollars developing their own technology from scratch so were not only delighted but surprised to find that the leading ASP solution was in their own backyard and went far beyond the scope of their selection criteria.
The Solution
Taking the white label AdConstructor platform and re-branding it as their own product, AdBuild, they now permit more than 900 direct advertising clients in the real estate sector to book media space, design artwork, plan page layouts and deliver final artwork materials directly to their newspapers without the need for in-house booking representatives or artwork design teams.

- Post system implementation, the company saved approximately $3m in staff salaries and production costs per annum.
- AdConstructor operating as AdBuild had a very aggressive rollout strategy over 2 years that has succeeded by achieving a publishing volumes reaching in excess of 940 tabloid and broadsheet pages per week. That is getting close to 50,000 pages of advertising produced through AdBuild a year!
- News Limited are also able to link their publications together onscreen for certain clients to cross promote sibling publications, reaping additional advertising revenue from clients.
- The system restricts or warns users when photos are low-resolution or enlarged beyond set parameters.
- The program automatically enhances each image in line with each publication’s specific ICC color and photo enhancement profile to ensure reproduction standards are of the highest quality end result.
- Production processes are streamlined through automated material delivery to the appropriate print centre for each publication.
- Advertisers do not need to have a high level of expertise using online systems to use the AdConstructor platform. News Limited’s smaller regional newspapers service country communities who are able to use the online design system with little or no training.
